My son recently started selling a certain company's line. He loves sales and is actually pretty good at it. Years ago I had a friend selling the same line of product. Back then the trick was invite people over to your house for a "party", then they'd spring the biz op ton you. I HATED that! At first he didn't see a problem with it until I shared with him,
Imagine Brad (fake name for his best friend), invites you over for a BBQ and you go thinking you're going to have a BBQ, then this sales rep jumps out, whips out his white board and launches into the business opportunity. How would you feel?
It's like the lights came on.....with a quiet "oh". It was worth a good laugh tho at that terrible memory. Thank goodness I think most companies have now dropped that tactic.
