Default Re: Don't pay to take surveys

A few things should be understood about survey companies.

1) Some of the lists are compiled and kept current while others get more stale by the day. Paying someone to find all those companies, list them in one place, and keep the list current is only fair.

2) The companies that ask questions along the lines of "which do you like: this or that?" are only looking for your e-mail address to sell to marketing lists. They could not care less that you prefer one cola over another, who you are going to vote for, or anything else.

3) Read this so you can make an informed decision.

4) True legitimate survey companies send out surveys for their clients who are companies looking for ways to improve their market share of whatever product they have. They are interested in finding out how much money you have to spend, what you spend it on and why, and how can they get you to spend your money on their product instead of the competition's product.

5) Connecting the dots, that means if you don't have any money to spend, you will not qualify to take many surveys. They want people who buy new cars, travel, plan on remodeling, eat out, etc. If you barely scrape by doing all your shopping at WalMart, you will qualify for very few surveys and they will only get you a sweepstakes entry.

Two legitimate companies I have found that actually pay cash (not a lot but real cash nonetheless) are SurveySavvyand Clear Voice Surveys. Both companies have only sent very legitimate surveys.

Others that are legitimate but pay mostly in points or sweepstakes entries rather than cash include Survey Spot and NPD Online Research.
