Hi everyone
I have been knitting and crocheting since I was very young. I find it very relaxing.

Lately I have been crocheting afghans from graphs. I have just finished one and now am working on the backing for it. I joined a crochet group and learned the afghan s***ch and is it ever simple and nice when its done. I have made three afghans already and with this method it is so quick and easy to do.

I also knit, just about everything as well as crochet everything but doilies. I don't like working with the thinner yarn.

Hubby and I make cat tents, teddy bears and we were doing needlepunch embroidery as well. I have a houseful of crafts here.

I am not a crafty person, but did learn the Broomstick pattern - have you ever done this? I t use to be a BIG craze and i never see anyone doing it - when the afghan is finished looks sorta lacey but out of yarn - I went through a spell and made them for everyone when I was about 18-19 LOL

This was something I learned from Mom and now that she is gone would be nice to do what we shared together ButI cannot work with yarn anymore causes me to really itch, there have been times I think how nice it would be to do these again and make into baby blankets for gifts

Do you sell your items at craft shows? I see many women there with their afghans and other knitted, crocheted items - when I sell at shows

If you can learn to work with the smaller thread, I think you'll be thrilled at how delicate and antique it looks. My sister-in-law made me a lovely tablecloth with the cotton thread and I get so many compliments.

Tonja, I remember doing things with the broomstick yes. I haven't worked with that for years. In fact I don't have a clue where it even is now. It does make very nice things though, especially shawls.

I used to sell at craft fairs and all but haven't done that in about 8 years or more now. I have been too busy knitting and crocheting for my grandchildren. lol The one problem I found with selling large items like afghans and things are people who dont' do this themselves don't realize the work involved and they want it for next to nothing so you dont' really make on it. The smaller items sell much quicker I found.
What are you working on now? I find with the yarn, it makes me sneeze sometimes but I don't itch with it.

Buttons, I don't have the patience anymore for the crochet thread. Its just too small for me, I like to see my work in a hurry and with knitting or crocheting I can. The tablecloths and doilies are lovely though. Maybe someday when I get really old I will tackle it again. :)
