Since last month I've been running around. My 16 month baby girl she been having these high fever the last one was yesterday close to 102. Before this I took her to the ER with 5 days with a fever and they did this painful testing on her that brook my heart. Came out that she had urine tract infection. They gave her some Bactrim for 10 days till now fever again. There going to test her again to see if she's having some sort of kidney reflex disease.

I hope not I'm scarred and worried. I was thinking in moving the end of July but If she's still I'll I don't want to take that chance.

Moms any advice? Have you heard of this happening to other babies too?

I’ll keep your daughter in my prayers. Have you done any reading about kidney reflux? According to what I’ve read- the great majority of children with reflux outgrow this over the course of several years. http://www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au/BHCV2/bhcarticles.nsf/pages/Kidney_reflux?Open

Thanks to all....

Thanks Cher for your concern, I took her to the Dupont children Hospital and thank GOD she didn't show signs of kidney reflux disease. I'm still waiting for her urine culture exam. Next week she's going to have a MRI and some other stuff too. She's still on antibiotics and sometimes she has fever up to 100.

I'm frustrated and depressed something is wrong I hope is not a big deal. I'll wait and see. :(

Thanks Moms

A home help: cranberry juice is very good at lessening UTI trouble. It sounds like your daughter's situation is a bit worse than just a UTI, but cranberry juice might help at least a little. (This is not just an old wives' tale about c.j., I got this advice from a medical student friend of mine.)

Mary, I am sorry to hear about your daugther. I know its useless to tell you not to worry but please don't get yourself all worked up until the results are in. You won't be any help to her if you get sick in the meantime. I am sure your daughter will be fine. I will keep her in my prayers.

hugs

Does she have any other symptoms? My daughter had some slight fevers a week ago. She was having some coughing so I took her to the doctor. They said she was fine. I used that as an opportunity to tell them we took a tick off of her about a week before. She goes back Monday for a blood test to make sure she doesn't have lyme disease.

I'm glad the doctor is being cautious but I am going to feel so bad when they have to draw blood. She had to have blood work done several times a little over a year ago and it left quite an impression.

Anyway, I mention this for everyone to keep lyme disease in mind because it is often overlooked.

I'll say a prayer for you.

My daughter once had a urine infection when she was around 2 yrs old, we stopped the bath time for little bit and went to showers they said the soapy water she was sitting in was making it worse to, They also cut her off of all juices and strictly milk and lots of water to flush her system out. They also subcribed her antibotics and cream , they gave me a home test kit as well so when she pottied in her chair I could dip the strip it would tell me if her levels were high or low meaning possible high white cell count in urine meaning infection, by the 4th day on antibotic and following the strict fluids they told me and giving her lots of yogurt with active cultures she started to clear up. by the 7th day she was slowly starting back on juices here and there and by this time she loved yogurt so much so that was great. She came out of it fine. She would rather take showers as well to now.
I wish you well and pray that every thing will be ok, Bless you and your family.
