For the last 3 years I've been working out of our bedroom. So this summer we finally where able to start construction (thanks to my AmeriPlan business ;) ) on my new office!!!! It's halfway done, the patio is built with a new roof and my office will be attached with a sliding glass door. I have a desk already for the new space (got it from a neighbor who was moving). Now to get hubby to finish it before the rainy season starts this fall

Hey thanks!
I tried posting some pics (esp the one with my 17 mo old having sawdust all over his bum) but they're too big and I don't know how to shrink them. Any suggestions?

I've got a couple of the pictures at my family website, easier to attach a link, lol. We have an attached carport that we're converting into a "garage" which will be used as my new office. I believe the pics I have at my site only show the new back patio and my little one's bum covered with sawdust. But you'll get the idea. I'll definately get pics when I move into my new space!

You have a beautiful family! :)
I love your new office idea. I was looking at home listings (we are getting ready to move) and saw a lising with a patio and seperate, sliding door area for dining or a study. I dreamed of having that as my home office :)
I bet you can't wait to "move in".

Thank you Diamond!
Yes, I am very excited to get "moved in". We're going to use the space as half office and half craft room/storage etc. We have a small upright freezer that we're going to build cabinets around for pantry/storage. Right now our pantry is in the laundry room. This is a very small house, so we keep everything as compact as possible.
Have fun with your move!!!!

My husband put the final wall up over the weekend (the garage doors) and finished the bird blocks. He's called the inspector today so hopefully he'll be out this week or next to get us signed off!!! When that's done, we'll be able to take our time to finish the room and get some electrical done. I'll post new pics at my family site and attach the link in the next week or so. :D

Hi Kathleen- Loved the pictures on the family website!! Boys are so cute at that age!! My office is split- Half of it is in my livingroom & my desk is in my bedroom, so I spent quite a bit of time running back & forth between the two- but hey it keeps me fit!! God Bless- signed your guestbook! (=

Thank you Rosalee! We do have fun, my little men are growing so fast :( Brian had his 18 mo checkup yesterday and he weighs in at 23 lbs 12 oz (that's how much weight I've lost in the last 4 months!) and he s 34 1/4" tall.
The inspector came out last week and signed us off on the framing, but hubby needs to do a couple of things before the final sign off. So he's been working on that this weekend. I'm working on prepping over 1500 brochures for the fair, whew! I've also been invited to bring my material to my son's school barbecue on the 31st! ;) So I better get back to it. We walked around Green Lake this morning with the boys and Russell walks the whole thing while Brian gets to ride in the jogger (it's 2.8 miles).
Have a GREAT weekend!

Hi Kathleen - I'm so glad things are going well for you , you'll have that inspection out of the way in no time! I hope Brian is feeling better today after his checkup, Bless his heart- they don't understand a lot that goes on at that age, do they? Wow!! You have been busy- did you get all of your prepes finished? 1500's an aweful lot to have to do! I think that's wonderful that the school asked you to bring material-to open house. Great way to get some more business in there. Bet the boys' were pooped after walking all that way around the lake- I used to walk 3 miles down to the post office here in town, but have since moved out of town to the subbards, so can't do that anymore. Hoping you have a wonderful day!! God Bless-

We passed inspection!!! Hubby just needs to get busy with the finish work and I hope to move in to my new space in a few more weeks. He's taking Mon-Wed off next week so he can get some work done (including the weekend). The fair was a HUGE success!!! I found 3 new business partners and many, many people interested in the memberhships/business. I also signed up a non-profit group that found me after I gave a gal my business card when walking around Green Lake.
My son's school nurse has been putting my brochures on display in her office and we may be able to work with the PTA as a non-profit orginazation to help raise funds for the school. With my company, they give 20% of each of the monthly residual comission back to non-profit organizations. The school nurse knows so many families that can't afford traditional insurance and this is a wonderful affordable alternative!
Brian is doing great! Got his first haircut a couple of weeks ago. I need to update my website with fresh pictures
Life is good.......... :p

Thank you so much Rosalee,
We ran into a little glich with our electrical and it's going cost us more then what we had budgeted, so things are on hold for now. But the upside is the exterior is done, window's are in and my husband put the final coat of paint on a couple of weeks ago :D . So for now the boys have an enclosed play area till we can get the wiring done.
Business has been very busy! Signed up 4 people last week and have more to call on today. Luckily my little one takes 2-3 hr naps most days. My older one is in kindergarten all day.
Did an 8 mile walk on Saturday for my non-profit group I'm working with. www.HEALEverywhere.org (http://www.HEALEverywhere.org) , they help women of Post-Domestic Violence with support and education to empower them to continue rebuilding their lives. I'm a survivor of Domestic Violence so I'm personally VERY passionate about this organization. My husband and I where even envited to their reception they held at the Canlis here in Seattle last Monday.
How are things going with you? How's your Garden business going? I bet you sell LOTS of stuff with the holiday's coming up.

I know they'll love Home & Garden Party & what we have to offer them.Call me or email me at anytime to book a party. God Bless you & your family always-

Ugh, nope, it's not done yet.
But, my husband picked up a very large oak computer roll top desk (from a coworker) for free!!!! So now I need to find a home for the desk we bought last summer. It's one of those office type desks, very large approx 5 ft x 3 ft x 3 ft with an extention. If anyone is interested, let me know, I figured out how to attached pics below.
I've updated my family website too, lots of new pics. www.babyhomepages.net/schmidtfamily/index.php
We're waiting on our taxes so we can finally get the electrical done and finish the new room. I'm sooooooooooo excited!!!!
I hope everyone is well!

Drum roll please...............well, not quite yet. Our electrician is scheduled to come out in 2 weeks!!! Once that's done and it passes permit, then we can finally finish the room/office/dining room!!!!
Sorry I haven't been around much, been really busy. I hope everyone is well!

Wow, I can't believe how long it's been since I last posted here. Things in our home have been flipped upside down.
We got the room done, permits passed, walls painted, carpet down.....we've even cleaned it already. This year on January 26th (on my oldest sons birthday) we found out our 3 year old now has Type 1 Diabetes too. We where so hoping he "dodged the bullet", but no. But he's adapted very quickly to his daily shots and finger pokes just like big brother.
I also was going through some professional changes with my business. After a lot of thought, I decided to shut it down. After a year and a half, it just wasn't making the kind of money I needed and was bairly staying afloat. But as the saying goes, close one door and another opens. In February I signed on as a founding member of a brand new company and haven't been happier. I've personally saved over $200 in just a few weeks with our national buyers discount card! All I did was purchase stuff I would have normally bought otherwise.
Anyways, just wanted to check in without starting a new thread. I hope everyone is healthy and well and I look forward to getting "back in the game".
Have a blessed day,
~Kathleen
