Check it out - y'all know I try and keep up with this kind of thing but for once it's *good* news, the President signed legisation making laws against sex offenders tougher - including creating a new national sex offender registry, making guidelines for monitoring sex offenders stricter, and providing more funding for departments fighting internet crimes against children. I think it's great, definitely a step in the right direction - I think there need to be more resources out there to coordinate and catch perverts like that - I know stuff like the Cybertipline helps but I feel better thinking that there are stricter laws, too - like I said, especially regarding coordinating info. I think people like that do this kind of thing probably move a lot.
In other trivia: The bill was signed on the anniversary of Adam Walsh's kidnapping (his dad founded America's Most Wanted after taht happened, I think.) If you want more info, the National Center for MIssing and Exploited Children has a press release here:
