does anyone know where I can turn to for help for the holidays? My husband and I just both lost our jobs right after Thanksgiving and we want to make sure our kids have a enjoyable Christmas. I have tried a couple places and it is already past the deadline. We have four children ages 2,4,8, and 11. Any suggustions would be thankful!!

Catholic Charities, Unity Shop, Transition House. These are the places in my town that help those who need help. What about family?

my husband and I dont really have any family - all we have is each other which makes this time of year more meaning ful for us. I have tried a few places around here - but it seems that I have missed the deadline - I didn't know they started so early!

You can search for an LDS bishop. A lot of groups do sub for santa and can help out for things like that.

Hi Tara- I think an LDS Bishop is a Bishop for Latter Day Saints??? Correct me if I'm wrong. Have you tried the Salvation army for help? or any churches in your town? Many places like this are looking to help families this time of year. I'm sorry you've lost your jobs- Hope you find something soon work wise. We're always hiring at Home & Garden Party & you get paid up front- no waiting for checks to come in the mail.
