Grandma's Special Christmas Cookies
Ingredients
3 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 sticks butter or margarine melted or at room temperature
1 cup sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
sprinkles (optional)
Preheat oven to 350
Mix together 1st 7 ingredients.
On lightly floured surface roll out cookie dough
and cut out in to shapes with cookie cutters.With a spatula, transfer to the baking sheets, sprinkle with extra sugar. Bake for 8 minutes, let cookies cool before decorating.
For icing:
2 1/2 cups sifted confectioners sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 to 4 tablespoons cold water
assorted food coloring
Mix all ingredients together but the food coloring. Then divide icing and add the food coloring to each until desired color
