I have recently made the mistake of buying a membership fee at one of those paid survey site like surveyscout.com and paidsurveysonline.com

And incase anyone is considering taking paid surveys for money please listen up and I'll tell you how they work.

These paid survey sites make it appear that they will send you all the paying surveys you can handle when in reality all they do is provide you with a list of other companies that send you surveys. The companies they list are the legitimate research companies that will conduct the surveys and offer you compensation for your time. So once you pay your membership fee you then have to browse through their list and sign up with all the survey sites that interest you. And then you sit back and wait for invitations to be emailed to you. As I understand it, some people will receive more survey invitations than others. It depends on the demographics the specific company is looking for in survey participants. So a middle aged mother might get more invitations and higher paid surveys than say a 18 year old single man. But it seems that each market research company is looking for something alittle bit different in participants. So if you sign up with a bunch of companies you increase your odds of getting matched up with a company that is really looking for your opinion and who is willing to pay for it.

Getting paid to take surveys is real and it does work. You just shouldn't go into it expecting to get rich from it. You should look at it as an easy way to make some extra spending money. And you should never pay any site to take surveys. All you will get for your money is information which can be found for free all over the internet. One of my favourite free resource for paid surveys is the website www.yellowsurveys.com. This free website gives details to over 500 legitimate survey companies. All of the information is freely displayed and catagorized by which country you live in.

I hope I have been of some help in explain how paid surveys work. Please don't make the same mistake I made and pay a membership fee to take surveys, when you can get the same information for free at sites like www.yellowsurveys.com

I too have found some great sites that offer to pay you for surveys. Let me give you some links. I hope this helps. This young lady tell the truth when she says that you don't have to pay others ot help you get paid surveys or even mystery shopping.

Research helped me before I gave any of my money to any company. Also watch out for those emails you get that offer a free cell phone or lap top. All they really want you to do is make at least 3 purchases and thenyou get the free item. I mean come one...if it is free, then it is free.

Here are the links:

MY Survey: http://join.mysurvey.com/join.cfm?r=2112377 I have made $40 in the last couple of months.

Survey Savvy: http://www.surveysavvy.com/ I have only gotten two surveys from them, but I made $5 for each one. That is pretty good.

Go Zing: http://www.gozingsurveys.com/survey_site/index.asp? They pay $1-2 for most surveys and they pay slow, but they do pay.

Those are three that I use.

There is no good reason to pay to join a survey site. Legitimate paid surveys do not ask for a fee to join. If you are interested in taking paid surveys try a Free Paid Surveys Directory (http://www.wahmservice.com) like the one at www.wahmservice.com (http://www.wahmservice.com) .

They have a free database with over 500 paid surveys listed. Plus reviews, tips, and articled to help you make money taking paid online surveys.

NEVER PAY to get a LIST of surveys! I admit a couple years ago when I was naive then I paid for a list. In fact, it wasn't even a good list at that! I personally don't pay ANY upfront money for any work at home jobs! HTH :o

I tried doing surveys but don't like the idea of being scammed or taking over 10 surveys and getting paid .25 cents.

But I know of people that are doing great on It. Before you do anything check my Scam Alert Blog (http://dont-get-scammed-again.blogspot.com/) there is a part that has an Scam Update about

SurveySavvy Sign up is free but you will never receive any surveys to fill out to make money. Another referal program.

www.surveypro.com is another survey company that I really like. I got a email account dedicated to surveys and it has worked out pretty good.

I have found a couple of good survey sights, however, be sure to check them out thoroughly before handing any $$ over. Some are not all they're cracked up to be.

Never send money to take surveys! There are so many out there that will do just what the others say FREE. I joined all that is listed here and more. I have learned that the more you take, the more opp you have to get more surveys. I have not made a killing on any of these but have made over $200 over the past 2 years, and have gotten lot's of things free to either give my 2 cents on or have earned free merchandise.

There are some real good GPT sites out there that are free to join and have a good selection of freebie offers. Check out GypsyJackpot.com. This is a very reputable and reliable site. If you have questions, just email their support. Hope this helps! :)

A few things should be understood about survey companies.

1) Some of the lists are compiled and kept current while others get more stale by the day. Paying someone to find all those companies, list them in one place, and keep the list current is only fair.

2) The companies that ask questions along the lines of "which do you like: this or that?" are only looking for your e-mail address to sell to marketing lists. They could not care less that you prefer one cola over another, who you are going to vote for, or anything else.

3) Read this (http://www.123iwork4me.com/Sections-article22-page1.html) so you can make an informed decision.

4) True legitimate survey companies send out surveys for their clients who are companies looking for ways to improve their market share of whatever product they have. They are interested in finding out how much money you have to spend, what you spend it on and why, and how can they get you to spend your money on their product instead of the competition's product.

5) Connecting the dots, that means if you don't have any money to spend, you will not qualify to take many surveys. They want people who buy new cars, travel, plan on remodeling, eat out, etc. If you barely scrape by doing all your shopping at WalMart, you will qualify for very few surveys and they will only get you a sweepstakes entry.

Two legitimate companies I have found that actually pay cash (not a lot but real cash nonetheless) are SurveySavvy (http://www.123iwork4me.com/surveysavvy.php)and Clear Voice Surveys (http://www.clearvoicesurveys.com/home.aspx). Both companies have only sent very legitimate surveys.

Others that are legitimate but pay mostly in points or sweepstakes entries rather than cash include Survey Spot (https://secure.surveyspot.com/offer.php?id=1&VendorID=33&OptInSource=usgen&locale=en_US) and NPD Online Research (http://www.npdor.com/English/referafriend.asp).
