Russian Babies....

Has anyone heard about the hospital over in Russia-where the nurses are taping the babies mouths shut- to stop them from crying? Is this crazy or what?? Another case of child abuse I would say- It used to be that if a baby cried there was something that needed to be taken care of- like changing diapers, feeding or holding them & comforting them or has all of that gone out the window now?? I certainly hope not!!

No I haven't heard of this one. This is terrible. Gosh all babies cry, it means they need food or changing or burping or something. Those poor babies, I feel terrible about this.

I saw this posted on foxnews.com some time ago- around the time I posted this- I just couldn't believe that grown women would treat little ones like this who are so defenseless. Awwful!! And if any of you have listened to the new over Anna Nicole Smith- CNN News is the best news site to listen to as far as i'm concerned on this issue. I was listening about the Autospy report & the Dr. said there were NO pills found in her stomach. Foxnews is reporting "there were pills found in her stomach". I'm assuming Fox news is all about ratings rather than truth.

This is an old thread, but the situation is common in 3rd world orphanages. The places are so understaffed and workers are so overwhelmed just getting food once or twice a day to the babies.

Babies are designed to cry when the need something. They learn to do it again because it works. The babies in the orphanages eventually learn not to cry because it doesn't do any good. They learn not to waste the energy which is in short supply because there isn't enough food.

Taping their mouths shut wouldn't be necessary because eventually they stop crying and just sit or lay there.

And THAT is what is so sad.

A woman who works a few doors down from where I work adopted two little girls from Russia a few years ago. She has some really awful stories to tell.

There is a couple who live a few houses down from us and they adopted a little girl from Russia a few months ago. (She was 7 months) anyway, when they picked her up and brought her back to the USA....the little one had bed sores! Bed Sores from laying around! ugh!

OMG, bed sores on a 7 month old baby? All babies should be taken out of Russia. This is terrible how they are being treated. Something must be done soon. Either take the babies away or fix the mothers so they can't have any more. This is just not right at all.
