Hi,

I saw on this site Moms Network, the top 2007 business picks. I clicked on and saw the advertising of dataentrybusiness. It lead me to believe that if I signed up with them, all I had to do was to type ads for companies and they would pay me to do it. and that I could make 200.00/day. Since it came from this site and was apparantly approved and tested as legite, like I said , I signed up. I must be the stupidest person in the world who cant follow simple directions. I need to speak with anyone that has done this and would be graciously able to assist me to understand why it is not so simple and alittle confusing and complicated. First, I had to sign up with a paydotcom site, Ok that was fine. Then in following the steps it says to partner with any company I choose to do their ads for them. Ok. When I try to do this each one I looked at COST MONEY and they keep saying you dont need to pay for anything else to start out and to make that 200.00/day. Guaranteed. Well, You also have to have an account called adword or overture account to do the ads. OK, But when I try to get it set up it keeps asking me to design a add for my business. I DONT HAVE A BUSINESS. I am supposed to be doing ads and getting paid by the companies to type their ads not a business of mine? I dont understand. And then they talk about fees pay per clicks. I NEED HELP, One to understand what the heck I am doing and why. I dont get it and I want to get it and to do this. Can anyone out there help me. email me at helenepaez@bellsouth.net if you can help and if you can and would prefer to phone me, I have a toll free number I can give you at that time so it wont cost you a thing to explain this to a real dummy, like me. Thank you so much. Helene

Dataentrybusiness, Type-At-Home and all the other similar businesses work essentially the same way.

You choose companies from PayDotCom or Clickbank or whoever. You market those products as an affiliate. You do not buy the products. You sell them to others. You type up the ads and post them in free places or paid places. You make money when other people buy the products from your ads.

Simple? Yes.

Easy? NO.

When Google or Yahoo or whoever is asking you to design an ad for "your business" you design the ad for whatever product you have decided to promote. The more products you promote, the more potential you have to make - or LOSE - a fortune. Why lose? Because every time someone CLICKS on and ad you placed, you PAY for that CLICK! The skill comes in designing an ad that people will click on and then BUY the product you are advertising. It is a skill that can be learned. You are successful if you sell enough products to more than cover the cost of the advertising - the cost of the clicks on your ads.

Sign up for Perry Marshall's course on AdWords. Learn everything you can about keywords and tweaking ads, etc.

Becoming a successful affiliate marketer can be done, but there is a steep learning curve, as you are already finding out. If you are not careful and cautious, it can be quite costly.

Do your homework before spending your money.

A quick update on DataEntryBusiness:

Someone high up in the company posted in another forum frequented by many of their affiliates that they had been shut down by their server because of spam complaints.

I believe they were not sending the spam themselves, but did nothing to stop their affiliates from doing so. There is a possibility they will not be able to retrieve their data, and so will not be able to pay any affiliates, and no one who bought the program can log into their account.

Because they appear to be offshore - United Arab Emirates to be exact - their is nothing anyone can do but wait. No legal recourse will ever be possible.

If you choose to sign up for another company offering similar affiliate marketing training, do your homework and find out who is behind the program, or at least where they are based. It really could matter.
