At one point, we had three dogs (waaaaaaaay too many but when my SIL died, we took in her dog...couldn't NOT do that!). Our first dog, Shaman, was a pure bred yellow lab. He was close to 100lbs and the sweetest dog! Because he was bred so large (his mom was 50 lbs and his dad was 100 lbs), he had many health problems...he had surgery in 3 legs from OCD which means his cartilege (sp?) was pulling away from his muscles. He also had hip dysplagia which didn't bother him until he was much older. When he was having his teeth cleaned, they found a 10 lb tumor in his stomach. They gave him 6 months and that is exactly what he had...he died the day after Valentine's...he was 12 years and 1 month old. Shaman was sooooo smart! You could ask him where Kelli (my daughter) was and he would run around the house looking for him. Blackie (tweedle dum) and Sadie Bea (tweedle dee) are clueless!..LOL! If you ask Blackie this, he will bring you his bone. Sadie will at least get excited and run around, no idea what she is supposed to do! They are both sweet dogs and we love them but they aren't the smartest animals on the planet.
