I have always understood that MPM was free. That is how it was advertised when I joined and that is how the site still reads.

HOWEVER, (and I am sure this was not there when I signed up) there is now a REQUIREMENT that you make a purchase once a month or you will lose your Mall.

If you are REQUIRED to spend money then the Business is no longer free.

Let me say that I am well aware that if no one spends money then no one makes money because where would the money to be made come from? But if you are broke or traveling or sick or whatever some month then you lose out completely.

To be successful, people need to do their online shopping through the mall. I understand that. It's the REQUIREMENT that you buy something every month that I don't like.

And personally I have had zero luck shopping through the Mall, but that could be just me and what I was looking for. The search feature is useless and the store I buy my computer ink from is not part of the Mall.

My whole point is, when did this once FREE opportunity become no longer free? I'm sure others here have Malls. Did you know this?

Hi Familymoses,

I'm in MPM too, and was a bit dismayed when they came out with the "one thing a month" program. But, do you know that if you joined before they started that, then YOU don't have to buy one thing a month. You are grandfathered in because the contract you signed up under didn't say that.

Also, although there is now a requirement to buy something every month, the business is still free. You don't have to pay anything to join, and the once a month purchase can be anything, there is not a dollar amount that you have to spend. It can be 99 cents, and it still counts.

Personally, I think it's good that they did that. I read through the message boards and such, and some people were saying that they had a lot of sign ups, but weren't making anything. That's because no one was shopping in their mall! So the new requirement should actually help MPM members to generate an income. You can have all the sign ups in the world, but if you aren't making money, then your time and energy is wasted.

Also, when you try to shop in your mall, do have your pop-up blockers turned off? If you don't, then the search feature and side bars don't work like they're supposed to. I had that same problem at first...turned off my pop-up blockers and problem solved. For your printer ink, look under "Business/Office" there's some really good deals in there.

Oh, one more thing, go into your back office and look at the member forums. You can talk to other MPM members and probably get a lot of questions answered about the new programs.

I hope that you decide to stay in MPM. I really have faith in this business and think it's great. I joined last month, and I already have sign ups and sales, which is more than I can say for any other business I've been in :).

Best of Luck to You,
Carrie
