I'm very sick with a cold right now...you know the constent coughing, fever, chills, sneezing, head cold, etc. I would like advice on how to get rid of it before Monday!! I've had it since Tuesday and it came on very quickly and full blown! Please let me know what works for you! I will try anything!!!

Well they say that putting Vicks Vapor Rub on the bottom of your feet at night will stop you from coughing. I've never tried it, but it is really supposed to work.

Neti pots help with the nose issues. Otherwise, I would try to stay at home for the weekend, get plenty of rest and drink lots of soup and fluids. Hope you feel better soon!

Sometimes rest, sleep and liquids can be the best medicine. If I'm coughing where I can't sleep, I'll go to the Dr. and get codein. When sick, you really need your rest and if you're consistantly coughing you are not resting.

Sounds like you have the flu, not a cold. And this years flu has been HORRIBLE.

Thanks for all the advice! I actually stayed in bed all weekend and took various naps throughout the day while watching movies! : ) I also stayed home from work on Monday, but this morning I woke up feeling great and still feel great! Withe exception of a stuffed up nose and still coughing. But I know it takes time for these things to go away, especially if I'm not getting enough rest and fluid intake.

Putting Vicks' on the bottom of your feet really does work, I do it & so do my children. We also boost our immune systems with Vit C.- Tablets and juice. This helps us in keeping our immune systems built up so we don't get as sick as what we would if we weren't taking it daily. It works for us!!
