Last night when I went to the grocery store with the kids someone at the store gave me the PERFECT opportunity to give my 3 and 4 year old an example of having to say no to a stranger. You are NOT going to believe this. Now not to say this guy had bad intentions, but this day and age this just isn't something you do. When we were walking into Pick n Save a guy was sitting in his car right across the isle from us. We later saw he was waiting for two of his buddies that were in the store... when we came out and he was STILL sitting in his car. When we were walking in he yelled out Happy Thanksgiving so I said the same. Then he said "say, I see you have kids... do they like remote control cars?" I couldn't believe it. Of course I said "no." Who does that?? So then when I said to Hannah "did you see what just happened there?" "He was a stranger and he offered us remote control cars." "You NEVER take ANYTHING from a stranger." I repeated myself a few times so she knew the importance of what she just witnessed. I wonder if I should bring it up again. I still can't believe it.
