That is the number one fear for most people involved with network marketing or direct sales whatever you call it. I have found my business is going great in just a couple days by getting on the phone. Boost your business and don't be afraid. If someone says no it is to the opportunity not you. Good luck!

Jessi,
That is so true! It's probably the one thing that puts people out of business faster than anything else!
What kinds of things have you done to help you develop phone confidence? Here's a couple of things I've tried that have helped me...
1) I try to focus on what my reason for calling is ... instead of the phone call itself. So, for example, instead of worrying about the call (am I imposing? am I being pushy? will they say 'no'?) I try to think about how much fun we will have at a party when she books. Or, how much she will enjoy seeing this new product.
2) One of my recruits and I have developed a fun way to do phone calls ... We do "chat and calls". We log into a chat room at the same time, have our phone lists ready, and set up 1 hour time slots to make phone calls. We start making calls, then chat in between with each other. So, I make a call, and then I "chat" to her what the results of the call were. She does the same back and forth with me. Then, we can encourage each other, say "Woo Hoo" when something works and just hold each other accountable for making those calls. It's a lot of fun and it really took a lot of the "pressure" of making calls.
Anybody else have great ideas?

Ginger:
What a great idea! I will definitely use this with some of my team members. I battle depression and anxiety (what a combination trying to do direct sales) and the phone is definitely a tough obstacle to overcome on some days. I just have to keep telling myself "My phone is my friend, my phone is my friend!"
Thanks for the great tip!

I agree! You have got to pick up that phone! the worst thing they can do is say NO! Fule your faith and not your fear. Faith is the substance of things hoped for--the evidence of things unseen! Heb. 11:1
