Cool Work At Home Forums - Airing Out Your Dirty Laundry

Work At Home Forums - Airing Out Your Dirty Laundry

When it comes to networking your home business online, many people will tell you to join numerous online work at home business forums. As a long time business networker, I can tell you a common mistake that new network marketers make.

Often times when I am viewing an online community, I will see new members join a forum and with their first message board post, they are posting about their dirty family laundry. When I refer to dirty laundry in this article, I mean inappropriate postings that newbies are making on the boards.

Some of these postings include but are not limited to:

1. My husband beats me and I want a divorce. I need to quickly find a work at home job. Then they proceed to tell us how miserable their marriage is and all of the things that are going wrong in it.

2. I got fired from my past 3 jobs because my employer was an idiot and didn't understand family obligations. I am now looking for a work at home job and want to work whenever I feel like it.

3. Hi, my name is Jane Doe and I am looking for a job. I really want to work from home. I have 5 rowdy needy children, my home is a mess as I rarely have time to clean it.

4. Hi, my name is Jane Doe, does anyone have any job leads? I am looking for a home business that I can work during the week so that my weekends will be open so I can go out and party with my friends. Hey, do any of you like to go out partying?

The above scenarios are 4 recent introductions that I have come upon just in the past week on various business forums. This kind of personal information should never be posted on a work at home forum because employers do visit the online communities. Furthermore, anything that you post on a board is viewable by the public and can be found on a search engine.

Employers who want to check out their candidates for a job can easily go to a search engine and type in your name...all of these dirty laundry posts will be available for them to read. You want any employer who is considering hiring you, to think you are a professional with quality business traits and skills. When employers come across your negative dirty laundry posts, it gives them a very unprofessional look into your life.

The next time you are visiting and posting on a work at home forum, you need to be conscious of what you are posting as your posts will be viewable by the general and professional public...for years to come.
