Mom's Fudge

2 c sugar
2/3 c milk
1/3 c cocoa
2 T corn syrup
dash of salt

Boil to a soft ball (this means stirring consistently until you can form a small ball when you drop a pinch in cold water)
take off burner
Add 2 T butter and 1 t vanilla; beat until thick and add nuts or whatever you like
