Default last minute cancellations-

Ugh! It is so frustrating- we have a mobile- we come to you- type business...and I HATE cancellations...we arrange our entire day in order....so annoying ( and I guess I'm a bit cranky, too)

I'm so sorry to hear about your cancellation frustrations! I'm learning how there really is no rhyme or reason why people do what they do and why people may decide to buy something and why others simply change their minds. I wish you all the best and hope you keep pushing forward.

Angie,

When you set appointments, do you allow a window around the appointment time?

I moved back in March and needed to have many different services over the first few months. Each time I scheduled for someone to come out, I was given a 2 hour window. A few times the person was there right at the front of the window and a few times at the end. Often when they came at the front of the window it was due to a cancellation of the previous customer.

That is frustrating. I learned to make people realize I am making a commitment by calling them a few days before and saying something like:

"Thanks for booking your show! I just confirmed my babysitter and committed her for at least 3 hours so I will see you at 7pm! I look forward to a great show!"

or something like that. I was getting so sick of flaky people wasting my time!

We have a mobile windshield repair business- we usually ask when the customer is available ( of course) and then set a time window. Sometimes it is same day, and other times they want it a few days out....just depends.
