Re: traffic
Southern California traffic is horrible. Im glad I don't have to drive in it too often.
Now that the gas prices have lowered I wonder if less people are car pooling or taking alternate methods of transportation.

Re: traffic
I wish I could fly..wouldn't have to worry about jet fuel and it would be eco-friendly.

I too live in southern CA. There are times we just sit on the San Diego Freeway and don't move for hours

Re: traffic
Hi Audrey,
I lived in the South Bay area of LA for the past 18 (I escaped from LA recently and moved to AZ - yeah!). I lived in Redondo Beach and worked at LAX - only about 9.5 miles distance. When I went in early, 15 minutes. When I went in at rush hour (which, for those of you who never drove in LA is about 3-4 hours long), about 40-45 minutes. If there was an accident - forget about it! An hour and a half.
I used to find routes through the local neighborhoods (don't do this if you do not know the neighborhood area or what type of people live there!). It was slower with all the stop signs and such, but much less stressful.
Depending where on the 405 you are driving, you can take Sepulveda or PCH (Route 1), but they can get crowded also.
If you want, let me know which part of the 405 you travel (no specific destinations) and maybe I, or someone else, can help you find a 'saner' route.

Re: traffic
I grew up in Palos Verdes. My dad always worked in El Segundo. Most evenings it was a 90 minute drive home. No traffic of course is about 20 or 25 minutes.

Re: traffic
I hate being stuck in traffic. When I lived in Honolulu, I had no idea traffic was SO bad there. They don't even pull off the road for ambulances there!

Re: traffic
Speaking of wishing some of you had "Jets" did you see the article on Foxnews about the Car/plane. The car actually converts to a plane. Car of the Future? Your thoughts.
