Hello everybody out there!! My name is Erica. I am a mother of one and a stepmother of two. I live in New Jersey. I moved here a year and a half ago and still havent made too many friends. I just happend to stumble apon this web site while I was looking for information about business management. My problem is my sons father and I have been separated for two months. For the two years we have been together I was more of a strain on him and his construction business. For whatever reasons I didnt seem to be much of a help. I am hoping that we can work through our problems and become a family again. My predicament is that now after all this time I finally realize my lack of effort and initiative and I want to make things right. Im just not sure where to begin. Im planning on taking some business courses but its real people that can give the good advice. Like I said before, I haven't made any real friends here so its hard to find someone to talk to. Besides befriending someone with business experince could benefit us both! Im open to anything and everything so please dont hesitate to put your two cents in!

I wanted to be able to stay at home and still make some money. You mentioned that your husband is in the construction business. My husband was also in the construction business for years. I had my 2nd daughter in Woodbury, NJ. I also had a hard time making friends there. I think it was my strong southern drawl - they had no clue what I was saying I quess. Just keep positive thoughts. If you realized how powerful your thoughts are, you would never think a negative thought. That message was sent to me once and it is so true!

Hi, Erica, I just joined this morning at 3am! I had one of those nights where my mind wouldn't stop spinning. I know it's tough trying to figure out what is the right answer to put you where you need to be. Priorities? What comes first? Family, finances, work, school? I graduated with a degree and found it didn't get me far. Well, further into debt. Then, I had my children, Trentin 6, Kailey 3. They made me figure out what comes first. So, I quit my job of 12 years to take care of them. Of course, that didn't help the debt situation much. But, most importantly, they are happy and so am ! My husband works too much and doesn't get to enjoy life like he should. So, I'm trying something new to help with the $$$. If you want to hear about it, let me know or check out my posts.
