Spare Room
My wife and I moved into our first house 6 months ago and we designated the 3rd bedroom as our home office right from the get go. Before that we had a a very large desk/hutch/cabinet all in one in type of thing in our apartment living room.
Now we have that monster, plus another desk (mine), two 4 drawer upright filing cabinets and a table. It is still a mess, but at least it is in a room where we can close the door!

Re: Spare Room
I think it would be much easier to get things done if you are in a room away from everything else.
When you are trying to work and can see that laundry pile, dirty dishes, the garbage needs taken out...I know that I have a tendency to get up in the middle of a task and do those little things that could really wait for a until I was done with 'work'.
You also have everyone forgetting that you are really trying to work if you are out in the general area.
I think you will love having an office.

Re: Spare Room
Hi Sheryl,
Yes we do! But you know, we still get up to take care of the dishes, laundry, etc. After 7 months we are trying to break that habit, but at the same time, if we get those things done in between work, then we get to have nights 'off' (of course, that's mostly when we work on websites and such...).
Happy New Year!!
