I would LOVE to work from home

Right now I'm not working. In fact, all I have ever done is waitress. I actually just started online college in January. I am going for my associates of science in medical billing and coding. I am a single mother with 2 small children and would love more than anything to be able to stay home with them. I am hoping to eventually be able to do medical transciptions from home, but I don't know much about it. Is anyone in this field? I could use any advice or just like to hear your experiences. Thanks!

Hey! I'm going to school right now for Medical Transcription and love it! I'm attending MT Advantage and they offer an excellent online course in Medical Transcription. If you have the time for the course, you could graduate in as little as 6 months. I'm hopefully going to be graduating in 2 or 3 months. But I also work a full time job in a Veterinary Office. I am changing careers into this field because I would like to work from home and have more time for my family in the future. Basically the company you work for sends you doctor dictations through a computer file, you listen and transcribe what the doctor is saying about that patient. You need very good grammar and the dictation that you send in has to be perfect with no errors! There are tons of jobs out there for MTs for working from home and alot of them you can set your own hours. At most places you get paid cents per line. (Example: .08 cents a line), starting out MTs that equals about $12-15 an hr, then with in 1 year you should be able to make about $15-20 an hr easily. But thats by gaining more experience and improving your speed! Its all about speed and accuracy. : ) If you have any questions feel free to email me back!
