Oh Henry Bars

2/3rds cup of butter or margarine, softened
1 cup of packed light brown sugar
1 tbsp of vanilla extract
1/2 cup of light corn syrup
4 cups of rolled oats
1 cup (6 ounce)semisweet chocolate chips
2/3rds cup of peanut butter

Beat the Butter and the Brown sugar in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy. Add the vanilla, corn syrup and oats and mix well. Spread into a greased 9 x 13" baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Cool in the pan on a wire rack.
Melt the chocolate chips with the peanut butter in a heavy sauce pan over low heat, stirring constantly to mix well. Spread over the cool layer. Let stand until cool. Cut into bars.
