Default How hard is it...

How hard has it been for those of you who create your very own graphics? Using software to "draw" etc. I would love to be able to dive into creating primitive and other fun graphics but I'm afraid I wouldn't have time for the learning curve.

What program seems to be an easy one for this and are there any online tutorials?

You are definitely not alone on this one! I asked my IT person (my 11 yr. old son!) and he recommended that we try starting with the paint command in Windows (accessories, then paint) and try creating simple designs that way. Or, if you have a scanner, you can draw something freehand, scan it, and edit the document with the edit program on your scanner. All this from someone who can work a computer but not a manual can opener! Technology, huh?!!!! Anyway, please let me know if this helps you and I'll keep you in mind if I come across any other ideas/software.

A google for "graphic tutorial" just produced over 10 million pages. Bet you can find something there.

Use a free program. I'm in the process of (trying!!) to learn gimp. The learning curve for me has been quite steep, but all of my talents (few as they may be) are on the back side of the web page.

Well, let's see if I can help a little. I use Paint Shop Pro - you can get a trial download here: http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satelli...=1047023911984

As far as learning how to use PSP and do graphics, there are lots of websites out there that have tutorials - just do a google search of graphic tutorials or PSP tutorials, and lots will come up. Also finding a good message board helps. I have a number sites bookmarked and if anyone wants a few to get started just let me know.

Lightbulb Web Design Made Easy

Hi Lin-
You can easily design a website through www.yahoo.com or www.bizztoolz.com. I am a web developer and find that the online services are better for small or micro business. They are also more cost effective because software can be pretty pricey and will need updating from time to time. I'll be happy to help you design something if you still need help. (free of charge of course!)
There is also a really affordable banner designer I came across if you are still looking for banners.

A very easy program out their is called PhotoImpact. I tried it out before I suggested it. And it is very user friendly for even the beginner. And they also have a trial dowload.

I do hear a LOT about Paint Shop Pro. I'll have to look that up. Do the office stores ever sell the older versions for cheap, I wonder?
