I hope everyone has had a very lucrative 2007. I really think it is imperative for those doing their due diligence on any business opportunity that they really hone in on what is important. Over time I have been involved in many enterprises not unlike many people out there. I will preface what I say by saying that I firmly believe ANYONE can make money with ANY business in this industry. They need to be committed, consistent, and they need to find a fit for themselves where they see value in the products, the compensation plan, and the system.
I think though your chances of success greatly increase if you market big ticket items that have big profit margins. I really believe it is just as easy to make a $1300 sale than it is to make a $130 . It is all about showing the prospect value. If someone is shopping for a business they should be in the grocery store, they should not be looking for a business that could possibly net them six figures per year. We cannot let the clueless ( it costs tens of thousands to buy a franchise, or open up a brick and mortar store) get us down. If we firmly see value in the business we join then others will.
I have realized that MLM is not for me. Little profit margins with a lot of energy expended to create massive downlines where you are sharing your pie on every sale. I also would stay away from all these businesses out there where you keep 100% of the profits. That just reeks of pyramid and is the reason why a lot of businesses have been shut down. It is there to entice the greedy but really shows the fact that the product has ZERO VALUE. I have a problem with companies that bash two ups and such when the plan they utilize has the new distributor passing up sales forever. It is all the same. Every program that has a residual factor will have you pass up sales. Some are slicker in design than others, dont be fooled by the compensation plan. You WILL have to graduate and go through the learning curve to be able to earn. Just like it is in the brokerage business, etc.
The bottom line is you need to constantly hone your skills. Marketing, prospecting, etc. If it takes you 6 months or longer to learn a six figure a year business than it is worth it. Too many people are out there for fast riches and that is why the industry has a bad name. You need to be in this for the long turn. Trust me our pond is endless with people looking to educate themselves and make more money. We have to show them value and give them a good presentation that creates urgency as to why they need to change. Only then will you have success.
I enjoy the Emerald Passport business. I enjoy the product. I love the fact they are coming out with the new module teaching parents different learning strategies for their kids. The product is multi faceted and has something for everyone. We are the ONLY company in the marketplace that has the guest pass that allows the customer to see exactly what they are getting BEFORE they buy it. Again we have nothing to hide. This new module will really open up a new marketplace for us.
Dont let the holidays be a time to take excuses from people. You should be telling people NOW is the time to join a business due to the tax benefits for 2007. Plus they want to have their systems in place now so they can be ready come January when this industry explodes. Tell these people that procrastination is not a trait of success and then give them these reasons as to why they need to join you now. Give them incentive or a kick in the pants if you must. But just be confident that whether they join you or not it doesn't matter to you. It is their financial future that is in jeopardy.
Feel free to discuss Emerald Passport or anything else with me. I will make your decision to join very easy for those that are serious in getting on the fast track to success if you aren't a procrastinator. Ask me about the incentives. All the best to everyone in 2008!
