If you are in the home party plan business. The first thing you need to do is make sure you are running the show NOT the hostess. They tend to think that they can change plans at the last minute and you will be fine with it. Well it is a business you are running. Example you can't call your Doctors office and TELL them you will be there Friday at noon for an appointment. They would laugh at you. You keep a calendar of bookings to be held. If they call the day before and say I changed my mind I want to do it tomorrow. There is no way to do that if you are already booked for somewhere else. My absolute favorite thing is when they try to change the free credits they get and tell you what they earned! I could not believe people would do such things and think you are really dumb enough to fall for it. I let them know up front that this is MY business and if they schedule then they must abide the time that I have set aside for them. Furthermore, It is their show and they can decide how they want to have it but the rest I can take care of. I know this seems harsh but in reality IT IS MY TIME and I do have a life. I love what I do. I just wish people would learn that too.
