Upcoming Fairs!

I received some great news this morning. One of the gals I did a fair with last summer called me. She's pregnant and won't be able to do the 3 fairs she usually does, so she offered them to me! It's been very hard for me to break into the "fair circuit" here, since most of them have a standing relationship with another consultant. I am SO thrilled that she's letting me fill in for her! She said that unlike some of the other consultants in our area, she knows if she gives them to me this year, I won't shut her out if she wants to do them again next year. So I got a boost to my business AND to my ego this morning!

That's great. Maybe next year you two can share??? I know sharing it tough but it can work and it will keep you in the circuit.

Or maybe next year she'll have a one year old and just won't be able to work the fairs again.

I actually wouldn't mind sharing with her at all. We did a fair together last summer, which is how I met her. I did two days at the fair, shared with one gal on Friday and another one on Saturday. One person put herself foward the entire time, pushed her own stuff and took all the leads from the raffle (despite promising to share them with me) The other person, the same one who is giving me her fairs this year, was great to work with, nice, shared space evenly and went out of her way to make sure I got half the leads. I'd be thrilled to share with her anytime, but I'm also happy to give her fairs back to her, since I appreciate the HUGE opportunity she is giving me this year.

I am looking forward to the schools Spring May Day fair, I always do well at that one.

It is so nice to meet consultants who "get it". They understand the true meaning of networking and teamwork. It is all about relationship and you never know when that one person you are nice to turns out to be an opportunity of the year. Good for you!!
