Smile Job vs Home Business!!

I actually think there are no "work at home jobs" that people look for. I tried, wasn't originally looking for a biz!! I didn't have much money to invest and a biz takes at least a little investment (at least for ads or lots of time and effort!) I actually called an employment agency and asked about "home Jobs" she said she had never heard of any.

The biggest mistake I made was I lost $50 in "envelope stuffing" I sent in the money, expecting my materials as it said!! Instead I got a pamphlet (not refundable of course) that wanted me to go post ads for a get rich quick scheme, have people send me sase's and then turn those in for about a nickel apeice!! PLease! I think machines stuff envelopes, that is the biggest scam going!! I figured I was an RN working nights before staying home. I could easily stay up and do a few hundred a night!! If it sounds that easy, RUN!!

I think that there ARE work at home jobs....but that most are found via friends and local employers.

There's really not much in the home job market unless you have some real marketable skills.

Unfortunately, most home businesses advertise themselves as
"work-at-home" which implies employment VS oppotunity.

I agree with Karen that they are far and few in between.

There are work at home "jobs", but for those of us that want freedom of schedule and being able to advance based on our own efforts - that just doesn't cut it. I did a WAHJ and I was paid by the hour, but they wanted to switch my schedule and I just couldn't handle it, so I quit! Was the best decision I've made and found my home-business.

I was originally looking for a "job" also until I found my home biz, and in the process I came across all that supposedly data entry stuff, stuffing envelopes, other home biz's that either required too much investment and financial maintenance or it was something I just couldn't feel comfortable marketing. With the work from home hourly jobs, they require you to be on a schedule for so many hours at a time in a quiet environment; you might as well just go to a regular job because you couldn't do that with your kids in the background! Having the flexibility and security of a home biz is soooo much better.
