Default Passion

I think a certain level of passion is needed in a home business. You have to love what you're doing in order to stay focused and motivated. Working at home is so very different than working for a boss. With a boss, you are told what to do, when to do it. You are watched. You are evaluated etc. At home, you need to find the motivation to work both on good days and on bad days, both when you're healthy and when you're not feeling so well. Love and passion for what you're doing I believe are huge motivators.

Anyone agree? Disagree?

I totally agree, Audrey! Working from hard is very difficult because the only person keeping you motivated is YOU...no boss, no guaranteed paycheck...there are distractions of your house that can easily pull you away from your home based business. Too many "fail" at working from home because they don't realize the dedication, consistency, and persistency that is necessary. It is EVERYDAY, sometimes weekends....keeping at it when you may have months of nothing. Hard to do. But it is sooooooo rewarding in the end!

If you don't believe and enjoy what you are doing, it just isn't going to happen either.

I agree with you, too, Audrey. You most definitely must be self-motivated and driven to succeed. It's so important if you experience a slump that you keep yourself motivated to just re-group and get going. Remember your initial passion and the reason you signed up in the first place.

I agree. When you are really enjoying yourself it doesn't feel much like work.

Thumbs up Re: Passion

I totally agree with you as well! When I first started going back to school for medical transcription, I was thinking, yay a job where I can just roll out of bed and start dictating. But I can't there is so much more to working from then just that! Your right about having to motivate yourself about doing the work because working from home can be distracting with different chores that could be getting done. But you need the love, passion, and motivation to work at home or you'll just keep getting side tracked and won't get your job done! I totally agree with you and I actually can't wait to start working from home!

Thank you!! : )
