Cherry Rum Cake

Cake:
1 pkg white cake mix
1 (3 3/4) oz pkg vanilla pudding
1/2 cup oil
4 eggs
1 cup water

Mix ingredients together and beat for 2 mns. Pour into greased and floured 12 cup bundt pan.Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Let cool in pan for 15 minutes then turn out onto a platter. Cool.

 
Filling:
3 tbs cherry gelatin
1/2 cup boiling water
1 tbs rum flavoring

Dissolve gelatin in boiling water and add rum flavoring. Using a fork, pierce the top of the cake in an interesting pattern. Pour the gelatin mixture over the top of the cake to highlight the pattern. Allow the gelatin to set by cooling.

Glaze:
3/4 cup powdered sugar
5 maraschino cherries, finely chopped
1 1/2 tbs maraschino cherry juice

 

Mix together and cook on low heat for  two minutes. Drizzle over the cake. For a beautiful holiday touch:
Use a mirror as a serving platter and dust it with powdered sugar.

Easy Christmas Cookies

Ingredients:
3/4 cup margarine, softened
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. lemon juice
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt

Toppings:
cinammon
allspice
sugar
brown sugar

Blend the sugar and margarine; add eggs and lemon juice; mix well. In a separate bowl, blend all dry ingredients together and stir into margarine mixture. Chill dough in fridge for at least one hour.  Roll and cut dough into shapes. Sprinkle each cookie with cinnamon and sugar, allspice and sugar, or brown
sugar. Bake at 400 degrees for 6 to 8 minutes or until golden brown.
