Easter Basket Fridgies |
|
Easy enough to whip up in an hour and a good use
for those tiny balls of leftover yarn from other projects, these clever fridgies are
adorable and great for a quick gift.
You will need:
Small amounts of the following worsted weight yarns:
White or yellow (for the basket), assorted flower colors, about 10" length
of leaf green color
Crochet hook size G
Tapestry needle
Rubbery magnetized advertising giveaway from a drug store, etc.
Hot glue gun
Rnd 1:With white or yellow, chain 10, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in ea ch
to end, ch 1, turn.
Rnds 2-5: sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn. At end of
rnd 5, do not ch 1, turn.
Rnd 6: ch 15, join in turning ch of rnd 5 to form handle. Ch 1, turn.
Rnd 7: Sc in each of the 15 ch of the handle, join with sl st to basket.
Break off and finish in ends.
Flowers:
All flowers made the same way:
Ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook, join with sl st to first sc, break off and finish ends.
With tapestry needle and basket color yarn, sew all flowers to basket so they look like
they are spilling out of it. Finish off loose ends. With green yarn in tapestry needle,
make small loops of yarn to approximate leaves peeking out between the flowers. Finish off
ends.
Using scissors, cut the rubberized magnet to fit behind the basket and hot glue in place,
with the brown (magnet) side outwards. Stick on your fridge and smile.
